I’m always hunting. I stalk around the shops (online & IRL) for special pieces that spark my imagination. And like a cat, I like to play with my food.
Sometimes that playfulness tricks me into thinking I need to own every piece that excites me. But I can’t own everything. So I’ve imposed a mandatory waiting period, after first contact, I have to pause and picture how I’d wear it before I can even consider bringing it home.
This week, I’m letting you in on that process.
Here’s a look at what I didn’t buy on a recent trip to one of my favourite vintage shops, Mrs. Huizenga, tucked into Toronto’s west end, and how I’d style each piece if I had.
None of these are online. If you want one, you’ll have to make the trek or reach out to the shop. But isn’t that part of the charm? The little thrill of the hunt? Things have gotten too easy. These are worth a bit of work.
