I’m writing this from my in-laws’ couch, eating a bowl of chana chaat that my Indian mother-in-law told me wasn’t spicy and most definitely is. She got me again!
I just looked at the clock, and the time is 3:16. It always is. I never look at the clock at any other time. It’s been like this for years. My mom says it’s a god thing. 3:16, as in John. Sometimes I turn to the person closest to me when I see the time, and (deadpan) quote the verse to freak them out. This is especially funny to do at 3:16 am. My husband loves it. I imagine that at the end of my life, I will have forgotten everything but this collection of words, drilled into my head during my charismatic Christian upbringing.
I mentioned the 3:16 thing to a colleague who suggested that maybe this holds some significance in numerology. I associate numerology with people experiencing a mental health crisis, but then I looked up what it meant and liked it, so I changed my mind, and I think numerology is nice now.
This is what it said:
3: Represents creativity, growth, and expansion, encouraging you to embrace your unique talents and follow your passions.
16: Can signify new beginnings, leadership, optimism, and the importance of trust in your intuition and the guidance you receive.
3:16 Combined: Suggests a time of harmonious relationships, whether romantic or platonic, and encourages you to trust your intuition and embrace new opportunities with confidence.
My husband points out that 3:16 is his birthday. So I guess there are a few interpretations available to me here.

Number of Tabs Open: 12
Tab 1: Lionel’s Farm Pony Rides
I love to see and touch a critter. My husband is an actor and was recently on a shoot with pigs, but he didn’t ask to meet them. Wild behavior. It’s almost time for this little pony rides farm to open for the season and you better believe I will be petting a pony.
Tab 2: Emily Dawn Long A Hat Named Wanda
This hat has been in a tab newsletter before but it’s back now because it’s Spring and I no longer require my hats to keep me warm. Like Kenrick Lamar, I also like to wear a little hat but our reasons might be different. I loathe to feel anonymous or invisible in any way and wearing a hat decreases the likelihood that I will feel that feeling. Phewf! Now to decide if I want it badly enough to pay a tariff on it.
